Fighter Review – A Review of Siddharth Anand’s Latest Film

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone enthral audiences with their incredible on-screen chemistry and thrilling performances. However, the film suffers from a predictable storyline and clichéd portrayal of patriotism.

Fighter stokes the fires of India-Pakistan rivalry. The cocky squadron leader Patty and fiery fighter pilot Minni are reminiscent of Stallone and Cruise in Top Gun.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand

Siddharth Anand is a talented filmmaker who has delivered hit films like War and Pathaan. His latest film, Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has minted more than Rs 100 crore at the box office in 10 days of its release. However, critics have given a subdued response to the film. Siddharth has a strong track record and a star cast, but success in the movie industry is unpredictable.

Siddharth Anand has already hinted at the possibility of a sequel to his film. He has reportedly discussed the project with Yash Raj Films chief Aditya Chopra. He said that he shares a great bond with Chopra and wants to work with the actor again. He also added that he is open to directing another film under YRF’s banner.

The trailer of the film has already generated a lot of buzz among fans. It has a lot of action and suspense. The plot revolves around a young fighter who takes on his older half-brother. The film is based on the true story of Micky Ward, an American boxer who struggled to rise above his family’s drug and crime problem.

Hrithik Roshan has been praised by critics and audiences for his performance in the film. His portrayal of the protagonist Kabir is intense and believable. He has nailed the action sequences and is making a strong comeback after a long hiatus from the big screen.

The film is a must-watch for action enthusiasts. Besides Hrithik, Deepika and Anil Kapoor have also made their presence felt in the film. The first look stills of the film feature the actors dressed as Indian Air Force pilots. In the picture, Hrithik is seen wearing a pilot G-suit and holding onto a part of an aircraft. The picture has gone viral on social media, and users have flooded the comments section with fire and heart emoticons.

Starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan

Siddharth Anand has a knack for directing stylish action movies. His Bang Bang and War were slickly crafted and had a jolt of fun to them, with scorching chemistry between the lead actors. The filmmaker is also known for his spectacular sets and exotic locations. Unfortunately, Fighter falls short of the mark in this regard.

The film centers on top IAF aviators, who form the Air Dragons, and their camaraderie and battles – both internal and external. The story explores their camaraderie and brotherhood, which is characterized by a fierce rivalry. Amongst them is Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik Roshan), who goes by the call sign Patty. He and Minni, a determined senator, are from opposite sides of the political spectrum.

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have a limited role to play in the movie. The pair shares a brief but intense scene in the film. Moreover, they have only one dialogue in the entire movie and that too is a line from an old song. This is a disappointing film for both of them.

The film stars Karan Singh Grover, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Akshay Oberoi as the supporting cast. It has a dramatised narrative of the Pulwama attack on CRPF personnel and the subsequent Indian air strikes. The movie was released on February 10 and grossed Rs 217 crore in its first weekend. However, the collection declined on weekdays. The film was recently served a legal notice by an Indian Air Force officer who objected to a kissing scene between the protagonists while they were in military attire. He claimed that the depiction undermines the dignity of the uniform. The film is also banned in several Middle Eastern countries.

Directed by Siddharth Anand

Siddharth Anand is one of the most sought-after directors in Bollywood. His last film, Pathaan, shattered all records and established him as a blockbuster director. He is renowned for his action entertainers that feature international locations, nail-biting chasing scenes, mega canvas, goosebumps-worthy BGM and top-notch VFX. He is also known for his brilliant direction, where he pays equal attention to the script and the actors. He is the mastermind behind the blockbuster films like Bang Bang, War and Pathaan.

He belongs to an illustrious family of filmmakers and started his career as an assistant director. After he worked on several flops, he made his debut as the screenwriter with romantic comedy Hum Tum in 2004. He followed it up with sports drama Ta Ra Rum Pum and two more romcoms Bachna Ae Hasseeno and Anjaana Anjaani, all starring Bollywood A-listers.

This time, he is back with ‘Fighter,’ an aerial action thriller. It stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The movie has been inspired by true events and is the first installment of a planned series. The movie has garnered massive hype due to its premise and the on-screen chemistry of the lead actors.

The film is set against the backdrop of India’s air strike on Pakistani terrorist camps in Kashmir. It tells the story of a squadron of India’s best combat aviators who call themselves “Air Dragons.” The plot explores patriotism, camaraderie and the strength of the human spirit.

The movie is packed with thrilling moments and stunning cinematography. The film features jaw-dropping action sequences and breathtaking aerial combat scenes that will leave you spellbound. Siddharth Anand has directed the movie from his production house, Marflix.

Storyline

The storyline of a film is the sequence of events that tells a tale. It includes exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Often, the term “plot” is used interchangeably with “storyline”, but they have subtle differences. Plot is the overall sequence of events, while storyline is a smaller thread within the plot.

A storyline can take many forms, and each can enrich the protagonist’s conflict. For example, a love story can be used to explore the character’s inner conflicts. Each storyline has its own arc and is designed to stir the audience’s interest.

The film’s plot is not complete without a well-rounded ending. The audience will feel a great sense of relief and satisfaction once all the storylines have been wrapped up. While some strands may be left open for effect or for the sake of a sequel, the plot will feel finished and satisfying to the audience. This is the hallmark of a great film.

Rating

If you’re looking for a rousing boxing movie, this one delivers. But it also delves into the chasm between televised boxing and its working-class roots with a complexity that’s rare in this genre. Bale’s live-wire performance makes the movie, a “Rocky”-fied fairy tale for our times, one of the year’s best.

The film is a good mix of action and drama. The story is engaging, the cast is top-notch and the acting is very convincing. The film also explores the psychological aspects of a fighter and how his mental state affects him in the ring. It is a must-see for all sports fans!

It’s no surprise that the makers of a movie modeled after a “Top Gun” sequel would embrace political controversy. Released in time for India’s Republic Day, “Fighter” explicitly recalls both the Pulwama attack that killed 40 Indian soldiers and the subsequent Balakot air strike that, depending on who you talk to, either killed nobody or provoked a bunch of anti-Indian terrorists.

Ultimately, though, politics isn’t the thing in “Fighter.” It’s about a squadron leader (Hrithik Roshan) and his fellow pilots as they face internal and external dangers while navigating their personal relationships. And it’s about their camaraderie and brotherhood in the face of adversity, both big and small.

While the story is a bit slow, it is well-acted and has some good action scenes. It is a good film to watch with your family. The only downside is that it will probably be forgotten within a month or two. The film has great performances from Hrithik and Deepika. They make a good couple. The film also has some very good music.
